Hi. You probably had walked through a few lines of web spun by a spider. The MacRitchie Reservoir boardwalk is generally safe but you need to look where you walk. Like watching out for monitor lizards and snakes although these critters will generally move away when you approach them. Monkeys can be a nuisance and visitors are well advised not to feed them, as they will grab your food or bags containing food.

Info below is provided by National Parks. Dogs are allowed in parks but must be put on leash and muzzle. However, dogs are not allowed along the MacRitchie trails (amongst others as mentioned) as their scents affect the biodiversity in those specified areas. Be a responsible pet owner. In order to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, kindly put your furry friends on leash and muzzle them if necessary. Most importantly, please take ownership and clean up after your pet. Not really - whilst flat - its not the easiest place to get to from hotel areas of Singapore. Would recommend the botanical gardens and orchid gardens within.
