With the reduced vehicle access we are wondering if it makes sense to ride bikes instead of trying to drive. We are 2 moderately fit middle aged parents and 2 teens. You are not allowed to drive through the main canyon - you must take the shuttle from March-November. During the winter, you would be able to drive through the main canyon. Should you have mobility issues, you can apply at the main ranger station for a pass to be able to drive and park into the main canyon.
