While walking the hills to the fortress are there places to rest - benches? I am in pretty good shape but have arthritic knees.... really want to see this amazing sight up close and my cruise is offering a tour. Any advice is appreciated!

When we visited the fortress we walked through the side streets. Yes, there are steps and it is a little challenging but if you take your time it is certainly worth the visit. Reasonably priced …

Reasonably priced as well for entry. We visited in December and the fortress was closed but the museum was open. Think from memory it is closed from Oct - Mar but you need to confirm this. Not sure how your cruise will take you there but it didn't take that long to walk at an easy pace..
