2021年3月12日 · I suspect, Toyota 5w-20 oil is non-synthetic while Toyota 0w-20 oil is synthetic. So, Toyota assume that all oil out there is like that. I put 5w-20 synthetic non-Toyota oil (Pennzoil Platinum) in my 2017 Sienna with that same statement on the manual and it has not blown up yet.

2004年8月30日 · Maybe try HPL's HD 5w-20, I have experience with it in my Durango. Consumption with any other oil was about 1qt/10,000 miles. With HPL HD 5w-20 consumption is zero. I don't know the difference in Noack volatility between the 0w-20 and 5w-20, but maybe Dave @High Performance Lubricants can chime in.

2016年8月28日 · Don't know of any members that have started using it in the 4 cyl N20 engine yet although it is the preferred oil grade. While the oil grade along with a light 0W-30 for some 6 cyl Bimmers now is newly available from BMW in the States it's been available in Europe for a couple of years and longer for the LL-01 FE 0W-30.

One of the comments he made was that the engine was designed to run on 0w-20 oil but they recommend 5w-30 for increased protection and longevity. I thought that was interesting and it goes along with my general thoughts on oil viscosity.

2017年3月28日 · I bought our Honda Fit new in 2013. I changed the oil every 4 to 5,000 miles using Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0W20 or Pennzoil Platinum 0W20. Every time I changed the oil, I regretted making the change as early and often as I did because the oil was still more golden brown than black.

2007年8月30日 · Right now I believe DexosD only has 0W-20 oil in its certification list. But I would anticipate more viscosities options coming. For an alternative, I would probably use Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 or 5W-30. Mobil 1 ESP 0W-20 has the DexosD certification and I wouldn't anticipate the other viscosities in the Mobil ESP product to be too much different.
