Ferry complex – Aktau Port
A permanent ferry service is established between the ports of Aktau and Baku (Azerbaijan). Railway ferries and RoRo ships transport oil products, consumer goods, grain and fertilizers, covering 253 marine miles for 18-20 hours. The ferries can accommodate up to 54 rail cars and 35 heavy trucks.
History of the port – Aktau Port
History of Aktau port begins in 1963, when there was the need to transport products of the uranium industry and oil fields of Mangyshlak. Creation of the port began with the construction of the main and secondary breakwaters and four dry cargo terminals at once.
