2005年5月16日 · There are chrome trim covers screwed onto the real lug nuts. First remove these covers by hand with the appropriate size socket wrench. Then use a normal lug wrench to remove the lug nuts. When putting the covers back on the lug nuts, be careful not to overtighten them since they are made of thin metal and can be easily damaged.

That was one of the first things I replaced on my CTS when I purchase the car a few months ago. Aftermarket lug nuts are readily available online or local parts store.

2021年7月10日 · You're supposed to remove the lug nut trim covers before trying to loosen the lug nut itself. My STS came with the flimsy lug nut trim covers which always corroded in place, causing dents and squishes - in about 2008 I went to a set of the black anodized hardened aluminum race nuts from Gorilla. Nary a problem since - BUT hand-torque them.
