Well you should definitely check out Forrest Gump. It's one of the best movies of the 90s and it's written by the same guy that wrote Benjamin Button. And I generally like that too, when a movie isn't drilling in its theme. But for whatever reason, it just didn't work for me in BB.

By the end of the movie, we don't really care about the daughter at all, but we don't need to. She's the one reading but the new focus is on Daisy and her conclusion.
