DragonPlate's carbon fiber LAST-A-FOAM® core utilizes FR-3706 foam. FR-3700 is a CFC-free, rigid, closed-cell, polyurethane foam with a density of 6 pounds per cubic foot. It exhibits a high strength-to-weight ratio due to its cellular structure and cross-linked resin.
Gurit 1" Foam Core - 3 Layer | DragonPlate
While great for high strength applications which require a low panel weight, this is a carbon fiber foam core laminate that can resist crushing forces and supply an adequate mounting surface. The lay-up design is quasi-isotropic, consisting of three layers of carbon fiber on each side of a Gurit foam core center.
