I'll be doing the same with other guitars along the way and post them when completed. I also plan on making some drawings for jigs I've made for guitar building. 2024年11月1日 · The standard low E on bottom made sense to me, even as a child. When I have the guitar in my lap and I look at the fretboard, the low E is closest to my nose. When I take the guitar and hold it at arms length, fretboard facing me, it looks exactly like the diagram. My brain has no difficulty interpreting from there.

2024年7月12日 · I have a 7.25 that I had refretted with monster frets then the frets were cut on a Plek to a compound radius 7.25-10. The fretboard is still a constant 7.25. Just the frets taper off. It took a minute to adjust to it, but it's easily the most comfortable guitar I own. If I were king for a day all guitars would be manufactured this way.

2006年7月22日 · While running a sanding block on it to smooth out the ends of the frets, I picked up my 35+ year old Tele (the neck is, anyway), and I noticed that the fretboard edges were rounded and worn between the frets. So...a few passes with some sandpaper (across the grain on the edges between the frets) made this thing feel totally different.

When Ric re-issued that model they too left the finish off of the fretboard to be period correct. I also think that superbadj may be right about them using Bubinga as it always has that light reddish brown look to it. Chuck

2024年12月18日 · What a nice guitar! I believe that the great Jim McCarty plays one too. I played a black LP Custom in a music store as a kid in the late 60s - before I actually owned an electric - and being amazed at how incredibly flat the "fretless wonder" frets were.
