2021年4月6日 · A toucan's neck is actually 'S' shaped and not that big, and bird skin is pretty transparent, so extra skin is there to support the feathers. Lots of bird species have this, it's completely normal. The person in the video is basically just pulling back the feathers.

Hi, we’re looking for an occasional bird sitter for my rescue toucan. The ideal candidate would be someone with some sort of experience handling birds (e.g. current/former bird owner, vet tech, bird store employee, etc), knowledge of basic bird safety, be a non-smoker/vaper, live locally, have a valid drivers license, and a car of some sort.

I would recommend a toucan over a parrot any day of the week. And I used to desperately want a macaw. If you are having trouble deciding, i recommend you go to a zoo that has one. ESPECIALLY the Dallas World Aquarium, who has the largest collection of toucans in the world. I would advise against a toco or keel billed toucan, though.

That bird is very likely to be neglected (even if unintentionally) and the new keeper will likely be stressed out as long as it lives (which is not the toucan’s fault but the store’s). Parrots are already misunderstood as companion animals—I can’t even imagine how things look for this toucan.

2020年9月1日 · I see you've never seen real toucan plumage. Note the fuzziness of the head/neck area. They are super-extremely-ultra-mega-maxi-soft and fluffy! Note: I make no judgement on whether OP's repost is of a real or fake bird, but to say that it's fake because its feathers look like fur is fundamentally to have never seen a real toucan before.
