In the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the famous squirrel scene was filmed using real, trained squirrels rather than CGI. A team of animal trainers spent months teaching around 40 squirrels to crack nuts, sit on stools, and interact with objects for the sequence in Willy Wonka’s Nut Room.
