The Benefits of Deadheading

Cat mint is one of those plants that really benefits from deadheading the first round of flowers. You also want to cut the flowers back far enough to wear the brand new green growth starts on the inside of the plant. This allows sunlight to easily penetrate those brand new green leaves to create energy for a second round of flowers.
